Job Announcement: CMAP is hiring for an Outreach & Office Coordinator
Career Position: This is a 20-24- hr/week position is based in Gilroy, CA with minimal travel to special events within two counties. Pay: $15-18/hr.

Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Outreach & Office Coordinator empowers volunteers, CMAP members, community groups, non-profit organizations and government agencies to participate and more fully utilize the resources of CMAP through proactive outreach tactics, professionalism, and follow-up strategies. As the first point of contact at CMAP, a community media center located at Gavilan College, the Coordinator manages all membership records and follows up on member activities, including training, office administration, special events planning and promotion, and internal staff support.
Membership Services & Office Coordination
Creating fliers, brochures, presentations, and developing personal contact with CMAP members and the community, the Coordinator manages the annual membership campaign, including an annual donor campaign and member event, data entry and mailings, ordering supplies, answering phones, scheduling, facilitating member and volunteer orientations, and producing a PSA Day quarterly to create Public Service Announcements for local non-profit organizations.
The Coordinator organizes all outreach to schools, non-profit organizations, and local businesses, coordinating staffing for special events such as trade shows, booths at community events, to promote CMAP's youth media programs, underwriting, community events, special grant-funded programs and summer camps. The Coordinator organizes reports, packets, and correspondence monthly in preparation of the meeting of the board of directors and assists with scheduling.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
° Excellent written and verbal communication skills
° Experience working in a professional office environment
° Ability to facilitate an organizational orientation to all age groups with enthusiasm, engagement and to follow a lesson plan
° Computer operations including web browsing, database systems, email, graphic design for fliers and brochures, web-based calendars and groupware applications and word processing.
° Lift up to 50 lbs.
° Work creatively, flexibly and collaboratively in a volunteer and team environment, operating autonomously under minimal supervision on short and long-term projects, and to both provide and accept direction, supervision, and guidance when appropriate.
° Convey a warm, welcoming and professional public manner.
° Encourage others; compassionately empower a wide range of users and volunteer knowledge and skill sets.
° Understanding of basic troubleshooting resources for Windows and Apple computers.
Additional Requirements:
° Must be available for work evenings and weekends
° Must possess and maintain a valid California driver's license, have a safe driving record, and maintain California minimum required automobile insurance.
° Must be able to pass background checks for eligibility to work in area schools
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
° Ability to communicate in Spanish. (intermediate or above preferred)
° Non-profit volunteer management, outreach, or community organizing experience.
° Video production experience as hobby or advanced skills; Mac or PC computer experience with graphics and video editing.
° Experience with public, education, non-profit, and government organizations.
° Working knowledge of Web 2.0; advanced graphic design skills
° Experience with marketing, outreach, communications, and office coordination
° HR and Finance skills
° Understanding of local communities served by CMAP

CMAP TV is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Media Productions Coordinator.
CMAP is a non-profit community media and technology center providing low-cost and free equipment, training, community video productions, and access to local media to the residents, government agencies, schools, and non-profit organizations of Southern Santa Clara County and San Benito County.
Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, the Media Productions Coordinator will deliver all weekly and monthly high-quality CMAP TV productions to cable and online channels. These programs include mini-documentaries, public service announcements, education programs in local schools, underwriting spots, promos, high school football live-to-tape field shoots, local parades, events, and forums, live studio programs, magazine-style field and studio productions, among other formats.
Position is based at CMAP's office on the Gavilan College campus in Gilroy, CA. Local candidates are encouraged to apply.
Typical duties (may include, but are not limited to, the following):
- Is responsible for delivering contracted work for CMAP productions assigned and approved by the Executive Director and Operations Manager, including meeting with clients, developing contracts and signed copies for all production projects, scheduling crew, running equipment, turning in invoices, and managing client's satisfaction.
- Direct, produce, shoot, light, edit, or perform audio for studio and field productions, or other special video projects on a weekly basis.
- Oversee contractors and volunteer's work on CMAP productions, including equipment for CMAP Sports, studio shoots, and field productions.
- Manage CMAP's computer lab, editing suites, laptops, and hard drives to assure successful user experience.
- Work with other CMAP staff on organizational promotional videos; assist with classes and check-out of equipment, and provide technical assistance at times.
- May be assigned other tasks related to operations by the Executive Director and the Operations Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
Working knowledge of::
Managing a video production team to deliver professional productions efficiently, on deadline, and to client’s satisfaction.
Basic technical aspects of video production; production, cameras, tape machines, lighting, sound engineering, Final Cut Pro editing, compression techniques, basic web maintenance, and uploading video to the web.
Mac & PC computer experience with graphics, word processing and database tools.
Ability to research and troubleshoot technical equipment repair and replacement; manage facilities, and conduct inventory, generate reports and suggest efficiencies.
Demonstrated ability to:
Teach classes to a variety of community members; enthusiastically transfer knowledge of highly complex equipment and production in common terms to community users of all ages, and various levels of expertise with professionalism and patience.
Work creatively and flexibly in a collaborative team environment, operating autonomously under minimal supervision and to provide and accept direction, supervision and guidance when appropriate.
Use Web 3.0 tools to engage community, membership and donors.
Shoot and edit video productions
Basic troubleshooting of video gear and computer equipment.
Lift up to 50 lbs.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
Convey a warm, friendly, respectful, and professional public manner.
Work effectively with government, education, non-profits, and business entities.
Work effectively in a volunteer environment.
Be organized, create and follow workplans and meet deliverables on deadline.
Additional Requirements:
Must be available for night and weekend shifts.
Must be willing to use personal vehicle for business-related travel in Santa Clara and San Benito counties.
Must possess and maintain a valid California driver’s license, have a safe driving record, and maintain California minimum required automobile insurance.
Must pass a TB (negative) test and background test.
Must demonstrate production ability.
Education & Experience:
To qualify, all candidates must have any combination of education and experience that provides the skills, knowledge and abilities required for the position. For example:
A bachelor's degree or equivalent in television production or related field, or three years of full time video production experience.
Experience as a non-profit or commercial operations manager in an educational, technology or social enterprise environment
Desirable Qualifications:
Bilingual; ability to read, write and speak Spanish.
Community organizing experience, or non-profit management experience
Interest in career growth; marketing and online distribution of television content; interest in communities of Gilroy, Hollister and San Juan Bautista.
